Dear Mr. Shaub,
Thank you so much for your wonderful teaching-you certainly have a
gift for inspiring & working with students. The messages &
techniques you taught [as gym teacher for a day] are powerful lessons
to live by-what a valuable experience for the students of CG.
Thank You Again,

In April
2003 I was reading the newspaper. Another child abduction. This made me
sick to my stomach. With so many children getting abducted every year
by strangers, it made me think of my own grandchildren's safty. How can
I protect them? What's the best way to keep them safe. I really knew
the answer, but I had to get the okay from their parents. The answer
was karate. What a great way to help my grandchildren to help
themselves. Their Mom and Dad said okay. So in May of 2003 we signed
them up for Karate at Karate America in Cottage Grove, WI.
What a great investment. That was three years ago. Today they are first
degree blackbelts. They made their Grandfather so proud.
I know there are no guarantees in life, but I had to do something. Now
they have the training to protect themselves, plus they have learned
how to respect other people and to respect themselves. They are also in
good shape and that means a lot in this day and age with childhood
obesity on the rise, so many computer games and way too many television
channels.

I wanted to thank you for the difference you are making in Skyler's
like and in our family. Though we have only been a part of Karate
America for 5 months, what he is learning is so valuable. We have seen
his confidence and self-esteem improve significantly and are excited
about his newfound self-motivation and focus on becoming a black belt.
Every instructor has a wonderful way of teaching with kindness and
encouragement, and every class focuses on the students' strengths. As a
parent, watching the classes has hleped me to find ways to motivate him
to do his best outside the dojo as well. Every class I observe leaves
me feeling inspired to be a better person and parent, and keeps me
mindful of the morals and values that I strive to uphold and pass on to
my children. In a very real sense, you have become a part of our
family.
You are teaching so much more than how to do Karate! We feel strongly
that we are making an important, sound investment in his future.
Thank you, personally, for being such a caring, committed role model to
our son and all of your students. Thank you to everyone there for
helping build Skyler's foundation for creating his own success in his
life. We are so grateful.
Sincerely, Lori M. Kay
Dear Mr. Beck,
It was a pleasure meeting you several weeks ago outside your Cottage
Grove Karate America location. Both my sons, J.D. and Hugh, attend
classes there with Mr. Shaub.
I've been most impressed with Karate America and have felt that the
training and life skills taught there have helped J.D. immensely. He
has become a more focused, more confident, and more positive person
since starting. I feel he has possibly found a life-long interest.
I have been very please with all the staff members. They have always
been polite and professional, but I would like to mention Mr. Shaub in
particular. While this may seem a simple thing to say, it's by no means
a simple matter to me: I feel he has been a fantastic role model for my
sons.
Sincerely, Paul Counsell (Father of two Karate America students)
Mr. Beck has taken the skills he has gained as a highly accomplished martial artist, and applied them to a number of personal growth opportunities. He has mentored several top quality Karate instructors who serve at his Princeton Club and Cottage Grove locations. Two of my own children receive instruction under Mr. Tyler Shaub, one of Mr. Beck proteges. Mr. Shaub is an enormously gifted instructor. I can't think of any teacher, instructor or coach of anything I would rather have working with my children.

As
a parent I would like to stand up and applaud Karate America for "Boot
Camp" presented to a combined group of boys and girls this summer of
2006.
Boot Camp was presented to these kids as a
fun expression of what they have learned and what they will learn to
become.
The program was exciting, well planned and shouted the spirit that is
needed to build a child's love of sport and self esteem.
Thank you, Karate America!
